I’ve heard mixed reviews on the taste of this drink. But, I have to say, their commericial is AMAZING!
Is it greener yet?
12 AprSome days, it’s easy for me to spend quiet moments by myself thinking of things that I wish I had, places I would rather be, futures I can’t wait to get to. The grass is always greener on the other side. But, the other day, it hit me: there will ALWAYS be greener grass somewhere else. Maybe, instead of trying to get to where it’s greener, I should just focus on watering the grass I’m standing on.
The past few months have been difficult for me. My parents are splitting up after 27 years together. It’s a transitional period for everyone involved, not to mention heart breaking (even at 23).
It’s been hard. And I know that I would not be able to do it without the support group I have. The past week or two I’ve been realizing how important it is to live in the moment and really enjoy the good times — not dwell on the bad. The people that I have around me are amazing. And honestly, as long as I have them, I don’t need the car and the house and the job and the shoes. As long as they’re around, I don’t need to focus on the future, I can live in the present.
I went to law school prom with my boyfriend a few weeks ago. There is NO WAY real prom was any better. It was a blast!!:) And this past weekend I went with my friends to Orlando. Sometimes I feel like we’re a real life Sex and the City! I mean, really!
As long as I have my faith and those around me that I love, I’m content. I know I am where I’m supposed to be!
PS I went paddle boarding this weekend… and I’m in love!
Hipstamatic! & My Journey Continues
12 OctThere’s this app on the iPhone called Hipstamatic. It takes the coolest pictures! I love love it!

A nice photo session– it’s like therapy. It really gets those creative juices flowing and forces the mind to focus on surrounding beauty.
Regarding jobs, etc, I know what I need to do this week and next week. In fact, it’s probably the clearest it’s ever been! But, I think I will fill in the details to that a little later …
180 South– A quest to save the wild!
8 OctI recently had the pleasure of seeing a documentary called 180 South. It’s a film done by Woodshed Films and it’s truly an inspirational story.
Another plus: The soundtrack to the film in phenomenal.
If you’re ever on Netflix and in the mood for a good doc, check it out!
Here’s the trailer: (the first video is the new trailer, the second one is the old trailer)
My Bucket List
7 OctI just finished watching an episode of MTV’s The Buried Life. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a reality/documentary style show that basically follows three guys as they travel the country doing the “100 things” they want to do before they die.
I found myself yearning for the kind of courage they had and the sense of accomplishment and adventure they must have felt. It really had me thinking. What are the things I want to do before I die?
I decided to start a list. My dad calls it a “bucket list.”
Here goes:
1. Live at least one year in a country other than the U.S. (preferably Australia or the UK).
2. Read the whole Bible.
3. Go to Australia
4. Go to Italy
5. Go to Paris
6. Go parasailing
7. Go to Hawaii
8. Have a food fight
9. Marry the greatest guy I have ever known and have kids (duh)
10. Go to NYC for New Years
11. Go ice skating somewhere cold where the water freezes naturally
12. Change the course of at least one person’s life for the better
13. Buy a nice, high-quality camera and start taking pictures
14. Go up to the top of the Seattle Space Needle
15. Meet someone who is known for being successful or wise and ask them what they think the key to happiness is
16. Cook an amazing meal (that doesn’t turn out burned or anything else) for a large group of people
17. Drink champagne on a sailboat (this one is inspired by the movie “Overboard”)
18. Write a book
19. Give a speech in front of a large group of people (this one is weird because I hate public speaking)
20. Have a real photo shoot (more in an artistic way– not shallow way)
21. Rescue an animal (or animals)
22. Have a picnic in front of the “Full House house” … just like they did in the show
23. Provide at least one family with food or shelter when they otherwise would not have had any
24. See the Grand Canyon
25. See the Northern Lights
26. Go to the airport and spontaneously pick a destination from the board and fly there without a plan
27. Visit the pub near Oxford where C.S. Lewis used to go (author of Narnia and a bunch of other AMAZING books)
28. Climb a volcano
29. Ride in a helicopter
30. Go to Nashville
31. Learn another language
32. Go to a luau
33. Go to a Hillsong United show at their home church
34. Go to Spain
35. Visit Big Ben in London
36. Visit ancient Roman ruins (you know, the ones we learned about in school)
37. Visit the Trevi Fountain in Rome
38. Go to the Superbowl
39. See a presidential inauguration
40. Do something really bold ( I don’t know what that means, but I’ll know when I do it)
41. Go white water rafting
42. Visit Canada
43. Send someone flowers when they don’t expect it
44. Go camping
45. Overcome something that I’m really scared of
46. Surprise someone with a really huge gift
47. Stay in a cabin in the mountains
48. Go fishing in the mountains
49. Go to Philadelphia (because I was born there)
50. Watch the sunrise over the Atlantic and the Sunset over the Pacific in the same day
That’s all I can think of for now… I’m sure I’ll think of more as I go!
I just hope my life is one giant adventure… and that I help and meet as many people as I can along the way.
